We loved meeting Mary-Wynn, the creative mind behind Nomadic Meirka Design. She designs gorgeous websites backed with expert user experience know-how and SEO goodness.
She also has the most fascinating life of any client we’ve worked with. (Who else can say they’re a former pro figure skater, fully trained scuba divemaster, horseback rider, ballroom dancer, paintballer, rock climber, and web designer who dabbles in fire-spinning?!)
To breathe life into Mary-Wynn’s website with new copy highlighting her expert web design skills and embodying her adventurous spirit.
Each Finer Website Copy project starts with a breakthrough brand questionnaire and a connection call. As we spoke to Mary-Wynn, we knew her web copy would need to do three things:
- Demonstrate her holistic web design wizardry. She’s not your average web designer; she knows a heck of a lot about creating exceptional user-centric experiences.
- Showcase her impressive range of personal passions to make sure she stood out in a sea of competitors. This woman is seriously multi-talented!
- Ooze mindful messaging that showcases Nomadic Meirka Design as an oasis of calm for clients who are nervous about an overwhelming website overhaul.
We’re diligent note-takers, but trust us when we say we took notes on notes on notes during this meeting. Mary-Wynn had SO many professional insights and personal stories to share.
Of course, before we started writing anything, we carried out keyword research (the nerdy bit that underpins each Finer Website project).

Meet mindful web design expert Mary-Wynn.
Hi, I’m Mary-Wynn, the Creative Visionary at Nomadic Meirka Design. I love crafting mindful web designs for connected creatives.
Nomadic Meirka Design is a space that allows me to combine my creative and analytical sides. Some web designers specialize in the aesthetics of design, and some in the tech stuff. I specialize in both. (My mom’s an artist and my dad’s a physicist. Go figure).
Definition: Living the life of a nomad; wandering; someone who roams from place to place.
I didn’t have the most traditional upbringing. Homeschooled from second grade, I competed as a professional figure skater throughout my teens, which allowed me to train in Ukraine and travel across the U.S.
That adventurous spirit has never left me. I’ve lived in Germany and visited Istanbul and Iceland. Most recently, I moved from one side of the U.S. to the other (Seattle to North Carolina).
I’m also a fully trained scuba divemaster, a horseback rider, a ballroom dancer, a rock climber and a paintballer. I dabble in fire-spinning, too.
My nomadic nature has carried over into my web design work. I often pack up my laptop and notebooks and wander out to create in the fresh air. For me, being in nature inspires mindful web design and allows me to focus on crafting impactful websites for clients.
Definition: A nickname given to me by my Ukrainian ice skating coaches.
Being homeschooled while I trained and competed on the ice, my coaches Olga and Slava practically raised me. It’s through ice skating that I learned everything is a dance; everything is connected.
In dance, you connect one move to another, transforming isolated movements into a larger, beautiful whole. The same is true of mindful web design.
When you carefully connect separate elements into a well-designed website, you create a cohesive user journey experience that leaves a lasting, positive impression on the visitor.
